  2. Always gives me a good laugh thinking about this. Spawns are something that should always be decided by people who know what they are doing & aren't influenced by people with lack of understanding what everything entails. I did spawns back in 2017 already (https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/69218-spawn-revision-2017-and-repel-trick/), this was all me, going as far as writing changelogs for Red to copy paste & the sole reason why Repeltricks are even a supported feature. I was Spawn Editor (a role that was created pretty much for me at the time), so I can confidentiality say that suggestions are the one of the most important part about spawn changes. It is near impossible to check everything on your own, so Spawn Editors heavily rely on suggestions. Rates, chances, items, repeltricks, levels etc should be decided based on factors such as economy, viability, availability, progress access. If you misjudge any of the following factors you get bad spawns, spawns that are unbalanced, destroy the value of existing Pokemon etc. As for the post itself: Themes are something that limits the Spawn Editors creativity massively, often times results in heavily unbalanced spawns in terms of value but also in terms of what gets added. Who is Spawn Editor also influences a lot of the decision making, know-it-all people will never succeed to players satisfaction, inexperienced/less caring Spawn Editors will add stuff way beyond their usual rarity tier levels (adding a Tier6 spawn when they only show up as Tier9 spawn everywhere else) or very PvP heavy Spawn Editors will focus on that & will fail to take all factors into account. This, brilliant idea. How can you make the most of the time spent hunting at a specific place, needing the same nature is a perfect example on how to respect players time. (Pinkan Island has the rough idea behind it when I changed them a while ago) Morning, Day, Night cycles are also a good way to get incorporate more to a spawn area than just a theme. I was never a fan of the Guild Island spawns in general (if nothing changed, then I think it still remains that only Top3 guilds can enter those areas?). If that remains true then you are insanely limited as Spawn Editor as you can not make them "too good" as you will leave out majority of the community, especially smaller and/or PvE focused guilds. If you make them too bad then what is the point of it all? The middle-ground is usually not satisfying enough for players to go and grind out the guild ladder. Spawns are something a Spawn Editor needs passion for, asking the community about spawns will results in the same scenario as with incompetent Spawn Editors from the past who do what they want with no real thinking behind it. The community feedback can be incorporated once spawns are finalized and actually tested. This shows by the lack of responses to the thread and from past experiences, majority of the hundreds of changes that I made were directly from player feedback to existing spawns. To sum it up: Don't ask players about what themes they want, they don't know what they want. They want their time respected and it is your job to deliver something players will enjoy but also has to be adjustable in accordance to player feedback. Peace & happy new year

  3. "Corsica Island is coming soon. Corsica Island is the third and final part of PRO's Christmas Event of 2020, and is well on it's way. The map is in testing, and side quests are being coded ready for it's release." The event, although it is true, was innovative, bringing us to the God Keldeo and many very nice farming spots, I think it fell short in rewards, as for the Christmas gift it has many bugs, for example, they say that they give you 10-20 Pve coins but in reality they are ghosts since no matter how much you relogue they do not appear. Btw 2021 and I'm still waiting for Corsica Island . I think if they had taken better advantage of the Christmas occasion by adding these Pokemon, the event would have been one of the best - Vanillite T7 - Amaura T8 - Turtonator - Crabawler - Komala with skin christmas

  6. Let's start with the reason why the current team preview need a slightly rework; First, the current team preview was put in chat channel where a tons of random text, messages can show up anytime to wipe team preview away and you need yo scroll down to search for it which kinda annoying unless u dont give a fk about OP poke while pvp at all. Second, I showed in text message which 100% give you slower reaction time than in image. Third, It provide less info than it should. If u played Showdown, team preview should have ability to tell you which OP pokemon has been fainted, which one still alive, which move OP poke has been used and used for how many times. Thing like this is very useful or you can note all those info every turn and took x2 times longer to make a move. After all, I guess many ppl still disagree with that because they might think if someone have ability to remember all those things then it should be an advantage for them but this mindset was completely wrong for almost any competitive games. Ofc anyone can have ability to remember 6 pokemon by a quick looking but it will cause you to lose focus on the actual game plan, like which poke is useful in this matchup, which poke should I lead, etc... In fact there are so many things one person could focus on during a game plan and it shouldn't be team preview where it mainly focus on Memorizing and not Analyzing. Pokemon PvP is a strategy game and it's not designed to be memory contest. And when ppl can totally focus on the gameplay then the quality of the game can be improve, ppl play better, make a move faster... So how do we improve it: Step 1: less than 1 hour effort DONT CLOSE THIS WHEN BATTLE BEGIN, this is the real team preview everyone need during battle, instead give it a X button. If ppl dont like it then they can just close it. Step 2: Add ability to tell you which poke has been fainted during battle Last step: I think step 1 should be done instantly while the next 2 steps is just my suggestion.

  10. Since I haven't worked on the quest, I'm going to give my opinion as a player. And honestly, I'm very disappointed in the quest. I already knew that beforehand, but right from the trailer, we knew the quest was supposed to be inspired from the Zelda serie. However, the quest itself failed to deliver on this inspiration. I heard we would have dungeons, but what we got was just huge mazes. Zelda mazes are typically puzzles. Normally, a typical Zelda dungeon, you enter a dungeon, you figure out how to progress through rooms with what you got, you get a new item which allows you to access new rooms, you find a map, a compass, keys, eventually the boss key, all while solving puzzles to be able to progress until you reach the boss and defeat it. We had none of that. It was just large mazes. I quickly followed the right hand rule to avoid getting lost, found random stuff we needed to find, then found the boss. There was no puzzle, and it didn't take very long before I got the urge to search for a map of the area. The maps were also unnecessarily huge. If you are to make huge maps, you need to fill it with stuff to do. Side quests, items to find, fluff NPCs, just, anything to reward exploration besides the main quest! But there was nothing. Just dead ends. This problem of huge maps is further amplified by the Mountain boss. It didn't happen for the Forest boss, but for the Mountain boss, if you lose, you get sent back to the Pokemon Center. And then have to walk aaaaaaaall the way back through the huge maps and mazes. I'm normally very patient and never use repels, but I've lost it, and cracked open a bunch of the repels that were laying in my inventory. The bosses were rather hard, specially since you couldn't use items. For a legendary quest, that is fine, you don't want to give legendary Pokemon for free. But as an event quest, it just doesn't work. Events are supposed to be available for all players, but this is a huge barrier for the players that haven't had the time to optimize a boss team. The trainers on the way were also made on the hard side. Every battle, I would lose around half my team, and find it better to use an Escape Rope to return to the Pokemon Center, rather that use revives and potions to heal my team. I was honestly hoping to see an healing point somewhere so I wouldn't have to go through the hugetastic map again, but I was disappointed to find none. Also, we're used to completely ignore the Pokemon roaming the routes. In the Wasteland, the first thing I did was to talk to, I believe, the Garchomp, but just out of curiosity, nothing happened, and I moved on. I triggered the cutscene with Keldeo, and then moved on, trying to find my way. Only when I finally reached the end, did I learn I actually had to go back and talk to the roaming Pokemon, even the one I already spoke to before. I was annoyed since I was already getting lost in the huge map. I've also seen from a guide that the reward from the present in Matsuki would have worse rewards if you had not completed the quest. This is an extremely bad design, as it means you get penalized for exploring before doing the main quest. Normally, you rather want to reward players that explore. If you penalize them instead, they'll just want to follow guides in order to not get penalized. Finally, staying away from the gameplay elements, but rather into the story... I honestly didn't really like a few of the elements. I've never liked self-inserts inside story, like Chappy in Johto (They're fine as side NPCs). And seeing the hero being Niko (as in our Admin, Red), it just doesn't work for me. There were also a couple dialogs that I didn't like. The two main examples I remember were: - After defeating a Tyranitar, it said it returned to Mt. Silver. But how? How did the Tyranitar even get on Matsuki island, and why did it go there? I remember that something attracted Pokemon, but if it even attracted a Tyranitar from a completely different region, then why don't we have a huge swarm over there? - At one point, my character said she shouldn't have eaten perished Oran Berries. I know you were trying to be funny with that line, but personally, it instantly breaks the immersion, as I see my character to be someone that's very careful, and wouldn't have eaten something perished. This is why all games that allow you to customize your own character makes you either completely quiet, or only talk via choice dialogs. Regarding that last point, that's also going against the Zelda reference, since Link never really speaks. This is all of the feedback from me. It simply didn't live up to the hype you tried to rise from the trailer, in my opinion, and I'm already hoping for a rework of the quest.

  11. From the POV of someone who is not used to bosses in pro, this was SUPER hard. The Mountain Area was a real pain, the fact that i got sent back to pokecenter after each defeat was the worst thing. Because the forest boss was just letting you in the area, within reach of him, he was a great boss. This would have been so much better to implement such a thing for mountain boss... It kinda discouraged me to go further, but i managed to keep on going and trying again, again and again. The "water dungeon" (not sure of the name) was pretty easy, and maybe just a little bit too much. The final boss was okay, for my team at last. The reward, for me was more like "Finally, a poke that will have bad IVs to compensate hours in mountain area" :harold: Joke aside, event was great, maps were great and i haven't found mapping bugs so ggs to the mappers Spawning spheal / sealo would have been great in the wastelands, as they are on the water (my fav poke) Story / Lore ? It was good, nothing les, nothing more. Good. Overall, 7/10, ty guys, love this game

  14. A weird story line also i like it the 3 way to finish the entire quest, but i really dislike when the White Baron arrive to the city, cuz anybody said anything about talk first with Nikola, but after few hours, even the admins/mods was saying to talk with him first to get a better reward, i mean, if this was a kind of secret, you can said something like "Remember to talk with the guy before claim the gift" give a clue, but no, nobody said anything at the first time, but then even the admins/mods were saying directly to go and talk to nikola... 5/10 this event

  22. Maybe the spawns should be less about the theme , and more about the synch. Not gonna lie , most of the guild island spawns are absolute rubbish , guild island is definitely not the reason guilds compete for the top 3 spots ( And the fact that a guild can get into guild island using a ton of mysterious tickets is an absolute joke ). The only good spawn guild island has ever had (to my knowledge) was when the cave had these 3 pokémon in the same spot : sneasel , gligar , and gible . And for one reason , all of them share a common nature which is jolly. And from what i've witnessed , that actually gave people the incentive to hunt on guild island. You need to give guilds reason to try to reach the top spots , aside from the prestige and fame . Having spawns revolving around nature will make guild island a success for sure . This might be a bit too overpowered , and its still just an imperfect idea , but something along thoes lines will definitely make guilds compete for the top spots. Examples : ( i'm not saying have all these pokemons in the same spot , 2 or 3 per spot would be perfect ) -Jolly spot : Gible , Sneasel , gligar , beldum , buneary , mimikyu , charmander , drilbur , jangmo-o , meditite -Naive or hasty spot : Chimchar , froakie , honedge , ralts -Timid spot : Snivy , charmander , abra , larvesta , treeko , deino , houndour , magnemite -Adamant spot : mudkip , pawniard , dratini , azurill , hawlucha , mawile , larvitar , corphish These are the pokemon just on top of my head , you can be as creative as you want with the spawns. And implementing the rotating spawns idea with this would make this even better. Something along these lines will definitely give guilds a reason to aim for guild island.
