*grabby hands* GIMMEEE. I've been dying to get a new DS, my left thumbstick is starting to fall off from my 3DS XL q____q

There's just no point for players to chat in person. There's no incentive. The overworld is pretty, but all questions can be answered in all-chat or 'help' channels.

As Promised, My New Pokemon Series! [Videos]

See my posts on last few pages in this thread about how XP works: https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18683&start=90 Short version is that Xp is proportional to the first base XP yield listed on Bulbapedia. So Magnemite is 89, Magneton is 161 and Magnezone is 211. Magneton takes 1.81x more XP and Magnezone takes 2.37x more XP to level compared to Magnemite. On the plus side, if you teach a magikarp bounce and EV train it, you can level it to 99 really fast because its base XP yield is only 20. Don't get me wrong, I understand the premise now. I'm just disappointed with it.

Support.

I've honestly in 50 hours only seen two people speak in Local chat and it's pretty disappointing. I support this. I'd like to socialize with other people as well, but at the current state, it's futile unless you're in a closely knit guild.

Was that only Easter Day? Because if it was, f**k me for being an adult and having a job.
-
Update: I've just begun to level a Magnemite and it's taken me half as much time to level it to 70 as it took me to level any other full-evolved pokemon even to 60. It's kind of silly. Ash was really just a genius and a trend-setter by not evolving his Pokemon.

You're a funny fellow. :y:

Thank you all for your continued support in this thread. The reason I am not particularly invested in the idea of dungeons is that they are a long term fix and would require many hours of thought, planning, and development for the small amount of staff available. I understand that "bandaid" patches are very short-lived, but it's essentially what I'm suggesting; that just a few higher level floors be added in different locations to make the grind from 45-70 not as time-consuming and damaging to EVs (looking at you, Geodude). It also gives reason to go back to prior locations one would not necessarily want to ever go back to.

I had no intention of belittling you, sorry if it appeared that way. There's no reason to get defensive; we're having a discussion for the betterment of this game. I care about the game as much as the next guy, and have donated my fair share already. I made it a poll for a reason. Thank you for sharing your opinion. :y:

Oh you didn't know? We're all orphans and Pallet Mom is a wonderful woman who adopted all of us with the funding help of Professor Oak.

I've been playing MMOs for a long time, friend. You can't herd all MMOs into the same grind-fest play pen because they aren't all the same. PRO's Kanto arc lasts less than 40-50 hours. You cannot compare that to the hundreds of hours in games like WoW, Runescape, or the trillion Korean and Japanese MMOs that make you kill boars for 3 exp each and afk at punching bags earning 1 exp a hit while you're at work. Pokemon is, at heart, a simple game. That is why the handheld versions are so short-lived, and is precisely why PRO boxes your team once you go to the next region. PRO is elongating the game's life cycle in the wrong way.

The general advice is, "yea don't evolve your Squirtle until 98" because of experience rates. It's kind of nuts. I know I speak for many when I say I hit a brick wall at the Elite Four in Kanto because I was inexperienced in Pokemon Revolution Online, and what I considered a strong team ranging from 57-71 was anything but strong compared to the single level 80 Dewgong that managed to demolish my 50 hours of work. I'm not asking for anything revolutionary. The highest level wild Pokemon is ~45. That's 40 levels off from the Elite Four *at the least*. Grinding is a means to an end, it's a hindrance. It's artificial difficulty. My 'solution' below may provide relief from the grind and also reasons to go back to prior locations one would not necessarily want or need to ever go back to. :Shy:
-
I'm not asking for much. I don't even need an overhaul of the experience system. It's as simple as making another floor in a few locations with stronger Pokemon to "grind" on. *Sigh* I honestly hate grinding, but if that's how this game is, make it so I'm not a 16th of my experience bar per fight.
-
Don't sit here and tell me, "everyone else did it, start grinding", because that's bad game design and planning. Don't tell me to "go play another game or stop complaining". I want PRO to be the best that no one ever was. I care, I've got 50 hours sunk in already and have donated probably $30-$40 USD in my first week. Honestly, finding it hard to care to continue as my Pokemon team ranges from 56-71 I've no choice but to grind on level 40-43 wild Pokemon --70% are Geodudes-- for the Elite Four; which seem to consist of level 80-85.. :n: My solution: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Add a "basement" floor to the Cinnabar Mansion or Seafoam Islands, and the same for Victory Road. And please, for the love of Mew, don't put Geodudes and Gravelers with Sturdy down there. :y: Give us another spot to train at; level 50-60 wild Pokemon, please. You're going to lock my Pokemon away from me anyways once I go to Johto. Let me go out with a bang. :thanks:
-
Honestly, finding it hard to care to continue as my Pokemon team ranges from 56-71 and I'm now forced to grind on level 40 wild Pokemon for the Elite Four (which seem to consist of level 80s). :n:

I had the same question a few days ago. It's called a "ghost queue". If that happens to you, wait it out, or re-start the client. :Frown:

I feel your pain, friends. I used the bathroom for a few minutes and came back to a 900+ queue.

Someone needs to NERF these Gym Leaders
Gehrman replied to Notaccountable's topic in General Game Talk
Being very honest, I find some random trainers to be more challenging than Gym leaders. -

I have been ignored by an admin more than once already, they're fed up with questions by now, I'm sure. If we can make a "Rate" channel, it'll help to funnel people into the correct location for their inquiries. :thanks:
