  1. People don't underrstand that lifetime membership is just a phrase. You can't even have a lifetime membership since the game will eventually stop if you go this way.

    Moemon mod

Well, the name is fun. I wouldnt use it but if it doesnt take too long to develop why not
  3. Just bumping it since only one trade mod had a say in the post so I wonder if the rest of the staff read it :o I'll just emphasize on the fact that Pokemon was designed as a solo game and that the game design is nearly the same here which is the basis of my point;
  4. The problem is that if you catch mew and it has bad ivs, then someone who catches a mew with good ivs will have an edge in pvp. There is nothing you can do beyond get lucky to obtain a good mew. It isn't like this for any other pokemon in the game, because you can trade for better ones or farm them yourself. There should be a way for everyone to have a competitive mew if they are willing to spend enough time. It shouldn't be easy, but it should be possible. Mew isnt even that OP.
  5. From what I see now it doesn't seem to go in the right way as noone seems to have started doing any work in determining the weight of each stat depending on pokemons... People seem more interested in putting a blind price on stuff than actually working on determining a value for pokemons... Imo if you want to do something, do it right or don't do it, we don't need an arbitrary price system based on a value that's even less accurate than people's general feelings. Your current system doesn't add any significant accuracy to what people with a little bit of common sense would get, and does even worse. My 2 cents : if the end you want to achieve is to have a balanced economy, don't mix the steps, here you're trying to put a price on a thing you haven't even measured well... so : 1st step : Determine the COMPETITIVE VALUE OF A POKEMON(within its own species) with a decent "algorithm" that takes into account the importance of each stat for said pokemon that you have to weigh empirically. 2nd step : Once you at least have a decent measure (which you don't yet), you have to determine the value of money itself, for example by measuring how long it takes to make a certain amount of money 3rd step : compare it to the time it takes to get a Pokemon of a value > or equal to a certain number, and try to determine which amount of money equals which average time to get the pokemon of a value > or equal (you'll have to divide pokemons in rarity categories and get a measure for each i guess) counting the price in pokeballs 4th step : proceed to adjustments in order to take into account stuff like the PVP Tier of the pokemon, the rarity of the pokemon IN THE MARKET compared to other pokemons of same supposed rarity tier (how far in the game it is accessible, how many people are likely to farm and capture them) , how hard it is to just capture one of the said pokemon(thus adjusting the price of pokeballs and time taken), premium only or not, and maybe other adjustments I didn't even think of now that you could add. If you don't agree with this I won't bother, if you do I can help you building the system but I won't code anything nor calculate anything before the end of april (the end of my exams), for now I can just help you on method.
  6. If I understood correctly you"re saying this kind of stuff would desert other places ? It's a risk yeah. The cafe could be something out of "space", that you can access fdrom a few cities in both johto and kanto and when you leave it, it gets you back to the city where you come from I guess. There could also be some outside socializing places to avoid it being all indoor I guess.
  7. I'm not saying it is THE reason, I am saying it is most probablye ONE OF THE REASONS. How could you know for sure that it's not the fact, when people here made it clear that they'd use a cafe. Because we are a bunch of people wanting to socialize, and have nowhere specific to gather, if there was a specific spot, we'd have a way to find each other. This is all win, people who wanna chit chat will go to the cafe, those who dont care wont, I don't see the problem. That the only efficient way to socialize is to join a guild, which is baiscally a closed community, is sad imo. all right then. you read my post and you've made your point. :y: btw, if the devs decide to do this, make the drinks selection diverse. i wanna order pumpkin spice frappuccino. and make the barista cute. Yeah I try to answer everyone cos' I want this to be community driven, and it is still very vague so I take criticisms. You should watch Last Week Tonight about Pumpking Spice :D but yeah putting some funny drinks would be cool. And i'll be the hot Barista dw ;D To the guy who said the Discord waasnt well advertised, I couldnt agree more...
  8. oops I quoted instead of edit

  10. That's why i said that, teamspeak is more used than discord It's sure, but it could be done step by step ... The staff should make a vocal reunion with the players and make some Strawpoll to know more about the community. Well yeah maybe it's more popular. Discord is better imo but you might be right.
  11. Yeah that's my feeling as well
  12. There already is a discord and it's a total fail :/ And imo the problems are linked somehow. RP why not but then again for RP to be developped you need features and an environment that helps it.
  13. That is, but the game is still in beta, and I'm no good at coding but I guess it would take a while to both think through and code, so I guess this would be a very late add ! I'm all in for it, but I'm not GM anyways !
  14. Thank you, if you have any ideas on how it should be feel free to state them
  15. You shouldn't be talking for everyone with phrases like "people won't", this is your experience of a small sample of gamers, I have my sample of gamers in which thousands of people (to be clear, I consider this a small sample as well as it's just personnal experience) spent thousands of hours sitting and chatting in places designed for it in MMO's. Same for the person under you, you shouldn't generalize this much, and this goes for every single time in your life. Even I prefer to play alone in a game which was designed to be played alone with very little changes to make it social. It seems you guys underestimate the influence of the environment on behaviors. As you stated, the reason why you prefer to play solo might be because of in game features. However I agree with the point that the chat sux. but I am no pro in ergonomy
  16. Yeah why not, I find it cool too, I'm here to discuss the way YOU GUYS want the place to be, because I have no clue what people would like, so go ahead
  17. I see a lot of talk on PRO about the competitive aspect, however, is that all about a MMO ? From what I have seen yet, there is very little social interaction outside of those that are purely pragmatic (trading, questions, rating...). For now the only points of playing PRO rather than the solo games are : the story is more challenging (could as well just be a rom if it was not for the pvp...), and that you don't need a 3DS. Isn't the point of MMO's also socializing ? And I guess that's the reason why you're making guilds. However, how will guilds build ? Because for now I just see the guilds being motivated by competitive reasons (trading pokes and information, maybe trying to be the best guild). I don't see how there could be an actual social guild. Now to the point : where can people socialize ? In France, in the 60's iirc, was this big project of housing thousands of people. They build thousands of flats in the suburbs of Paris. Guess what they forgot ? Places for people to socialize. (Well that's how the "halls culture was born, because that's the only place where they could). You can't expect people to stay in uggly, closed, non practical Pokecenters to chill and talk. So, why not make (and advertise) sorts of "cafes" where people can stop and chill, talk, well, socialize, the nature of it can be discussed, but I feel like PRO would profit from a socializing zone. This is saddly the number one reason why I've stopped playing every F2P MMO after 3 weeks. EDIT : I figured out I was very vague so I'll add suggestions as to how it could look : for example, different rooms with vague themes so that people gather by interest, maybe some rooms where there would be mini games (would take some time to code maybe however), like a forum, but in real time... Since the Discord is so dead. Well there could also be raids but they would be a pain in the ass to think and code
  18. PRO devs have only played Korean MMO's I guess
  19. oops delete it
  20. If you want to build a calculator that would determine a note out of ten you need to (arbitrarily or empirically) determine the importance of each IV. It is possible to do a good one, but it will take hundreds of hours to build. For now it's very bad. For example for a poke who has no offensive move, the value of SPATK and ATK are 0 (which is easy), for most sweepers, speed is important, and a bit less for some stallers, but still imporant etc
  21. It's an appeal to tradition, not authority. Yeah I mixed myself coz i was drunk, what I wanted to point out as an authority argument was those who say that it shouldnt change because the devs made it so
  22. "This is a MMO" Well, I like purple. Is it a good argument ?
  23. Just wanted to point out that "it's an MMO" isnt a valid point. It doesnt mean anything, there are millions of MMO's which are all different when it comes to grinding standards. I agree that the game needs ot be harder than handhelds because most of us have done the game so often. I also agree that there should be a decent grind, because it makes the achievement feel valuable. But "it's an MMO" is just an authority argument that means nothing whatsoever
  24. 'Sup trainers, I cant go past loading hats on my Asus Zenpad8 and I noticed I was not the only one even though the specs suggest it should work. I wonder if anyone has tried the fixes suggested by the staff and it worked, because I'm not going to spend time changing the ROM or bothersome stuff like that if I'm not sure it works... So, any luck ? PS : I didnt post it on support forums because I dont really ask for support, I just ask if anyone managed to do what the staff suggested.
