I've tried a lot of things but my treecko still lvl 5

Hello , Recently I encountered a big bug blocking my progress in the game. At the third arena in Hoenn, while fighting the arena boss my connection had "mini-crashes" which disconnected me from the game. When I reconnected my starter went down to level 5 when it was around level 50 during the fight.
