Want to add that I've used it a bit more and when the user gets knocked out from the self inflicted damage, the target doesn't take curse damage that turn

Hello, I cursed an opponent and the curse damage didn't take effect on the majority of the following turns. It only did damage on about 3/9 turns (only twice after the initial moved proced) and didnt faint the opponent pokemon. I was fighting Lance in the psychic vision on route 6 so his Dragonair could ohko my entire team. I don't know if my pokemon fainting had anything to do with it, but the curse also didn't take effect on a few turns where the Dragonair was recharging from hyper beam. I cursed the dragonair immediately so I feel a bit cheated out of cheesing that battle ;o;
