Yeah, as I already said, feel free to leave, I was just pointing out that even if the tournament gets hosted on showdown, it will still be PRO-related. I know you called me Antichristian because I do not support Israel, but you can keep it out of this thread man '-' I was giving my opinion respectfully. If you cant keep with that maybe you should’ve just ignored me since the beginning, or maybe just dm’ed the host

Lugario, I think you misunderstood my point, let me clarify: when I said that Showdown would be used for practice, I wasn't referring to practicing gameplay or testing teams, I meant the practicality of hosting and organizing the tournament due to reliable replays, automatic record of details, no server lock issues, etc.The focus here is to ensure matches are conducted correctly and verifiably and bringing up the argument that "Showdown is just for practice" completely misses the context, since the point was never about gameplay, but about tournament infrastructure. About "legit" Pokémon, that’s entirely relative... what exactly defines legitimacy? Someone could spend 90 days hunting for a perfect IV Pokémon, while another person could generate the same one with PKSM in 5 minutes, as long as the Pokémon is possible to obtain, both are technically legit, even if you disagree. That's a discussion that has long been settled in official VGC tournaments, and also in PRO, since there's a lot of generated Pokemon's that were given for the Ladder Tournaments winners, in the end, players are allowed to bring Pokémon that were generated or modified, provided they are legal and possible within the game. But, how exactly is obtaining high IVs a skill? IVs are determined by RNG, the process is mostly about repetition and patience until the right spread appears, that doesn't really reflect player skill, but rather time investment and luck, that's all. I couldn't disagree more about Showdown being a place that needs less PvP skill, you can use all the resources you mentioned in PRO aswell. Suggesting that a mere screenshot from both players is sufficient is highly unreliable, since screenshots can easily be manipulated or falsified, so depending on players to self-verify matches is not a robust solution, and saying that any suspected rule violations can simply be resolved by asking staff is, frankly, unrealistic. If it were truly simple, we wouldn’t even need a staff review process. Finally, about servers, I agree that organizing brackets by server could mitigate some issues, though it doesn’t fully solve the underlying logistical challenges

I understand what you mean about "being the main thing that fuels the game", and I completely agree that it's part of the essence of the game, but that's different from being the main factor in competitive play, that point is very relative and varies from player to player, and while it may influence battles at more casual levels, at the top it definitely isn't the deciding factor. As for whether it's a fair reason not to participate, it is true that's not for me to judge. What bothers me is the way you brought up the subject, which comes across more as an attempt to pressure or guilt-trip, without presenting solid arguments more like imposing your will than having a discussion. Now, I really don't get your point. Even if this tournament is hosted on Showdown, it would still follow PRO's rules, isn’t that enough to establish a proper correlation? The purpose of using Showdown is mainly for practice and ensuring that all matches are conducted correctly, with the added of testing skill rather than how long someone took to catch a """perfect""" Pokémon, which can be interpreted as either a positive or negative aspect, depending on perspective. After all, this was a suggestion that I and Subhammaster brought to Lacomus due to some limitations in PRO that could cause issues, such as: - Replays can be lost, since there is a limited amount we can check in our accounts. - Players from different servers might get stuck on one server and be unable to complete their battles. - While PRO's in-game PvP resources are improving, they are still somewhat unreliable. For instance, it might lack key information like the date the battle was played, the format used, and other details that could be useful for verification. These are some of the scenarios I had in mind when I proposed moving the tournament to Showdown.
