Playing the game on my Android phone, while I was walking through the Viridian Maze I turned a path that headed north and there was a girl (NPC) on a bike in the middle of the path, after trying to talk to her (couldn't) I realize my character was frozen in place, all of the buttons on the screen work, I was even able to open up a battle request with another player who was similarly stuck, however only logging out of the server and logging back in (which was an hour wait both times) got me free and I could move again.
