For some (unknown) reason i've been unable to use dig outside of battle. Have the requirements recently changed? I have the 1st 8 gym badges. Previously i was able to use dig to "skip" caves after entering from the completed side atleast once. I was also able to use digspots to find items. I can no longer do so. It brings up a menu telling me i need to do more for it to be able to be commanded. Any help?
