  1. The new region is done mapping pretty much. It is also heavily scripted and is soon to be finished. The plan is to introduce lots of new spawns and content. Currently, it's mostly up to scripters. We don't want to present people with a half baked cookie. Also, keep in mind that this may not be the final region we are working on. There are at least 2 major areas/regions being worked on. People had to focus on different things during this time.

Thanks for your reply. I don't want to look rude or unpolite, but this is basically the same info we got at least one year ago. I was hyped. I am hyped, but right now I am like.. not able to believe it anymore.

I still emphasize that obviously we cannot know what is going on behind the scenes, and that's right. We also don't demand the Moon from a fanmade game, but I think it is necessary to spend a little more time at least to give the illusion that this game is still alive.

There is never a communication, there is never hype, and the game slowly dies, with the playerbase emptying out. I say and repeat that I opened this topic only and exclusively because I love this game and I sincerely hope that it will soon return to the glories of its recent past. But for this to happen, especially given the fierce competition, you have to commit yourself to improving the outreach of the game, especially with your own playerbase.

With this I am not saying that you need to tell us anything more right now, but there is the need for a more transparent, open and frequent communication with the playerbase. And I would like to know your opinion on this last point.

Thanks again for your hard work.

  3. I'm inclined to agree that if there's one knock on staff it's the minimal communication to the player base. We're told about this gigantic pvp update a lifetime ago and since then not one peep about it. The players will understand if they told us even something as vague as "sorry guys we've run into unexpected problems" or "we've had to delay development" rather than feeling like they've been ghosted.

Since I can not bring myself to critique without offering a possible solution I would reccomend creating a "player relations/communications" position and employing a volunteer or two. Zero expense and tremendous benefit which the player base I'm sure would greatly appreciate.

I completely agree with you. Honest communication is better than no communication at all. Especially for those player who really care about this game.

  4. "During the last years, the updates have mainly focused on purely technical aspects "

Even in this aspect i dont understand how it is so slow. We still have many many attacks/abilities thaht doesnt work ( some really important in PVP like Voltswitch/U-Turn) and only a few are corrected each month.

Apparently there is a PvP update coming but its been so long.

We dont have ETA, maybe there is an auction coming but again, we dont know when and i think we are gonna wait a long time.

Its been months without world quests.

We are in an unclear situation and staff doesnt really respond to us.

I agree, but I am also aware that we are not within the deeloping team, therefore there are for certain things we don't know. Nonetheless, I completely agree with you that everything is too slow, if not completely absent (eg. new big PvE addition, or als othe very simple addition on the world map of the custom areas PRO created!).

I made this post to have a conversation with the users of the forum (the latter appears to be quite dead as well) and hopefully to get some info from the staff.

Honestly this all is very sad.

  5. Hi guys, this is a post to start a discussion and it is not to have any sort of controversy. I only write to see your opinion in relation to the current situation of this game, that I think is the best online Pokemon MMO.

I started playing in 2015 and I have to say that at the beginning the insertion of new content took place in an incredible way. In the summer of 2017 we already had 4 regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh), surpassing any other fanmade Pokemon game online.

From that moment, two years of silence. Since 2017, there has been no big PvE content update and this is the reason that led me gradually to leave the game (lots of players are not interested in competitive fights and enjoy only PvE, as I personally do). But this game is like a magnet for me, and therefore I get back from time to time because I really love it.

The latest update we had on this forum was the "New Region and beyond" thread, dating back to over a year ago, in which some future concepts had been presented. Then silence, again. During the last years, the updates have mainly focused on purely technical aspects, which are absolutely important, but in the meantime I feel the game has completely lost its momentum. And, judging from the forum, this translated into a reduction in the playerbase.

If you want to keep interest in a game high, you should try to create hype about new gameplay content that is being developed. And I'm really sad to see that for years this has not happened with PRO (world quests and temporary events, in my opinion, are not to be considered as great gameplay additions that create hype among the players and that bring back the inactive ones to play).

So, this thread is only here to create a polite discussion, without controversy, about what we can expect in relation to the future of the game. Game to which I have devoted a lot of time and which I sincerely love, but which in recent years has given me the idea of constantly losing its momentum. What is your opinion?

Greetings and thanks again to the developers for the fantastic game they have given us over the years.

  6. Thanks a lot for your clarifications and explanaitions.

Just a couple of clarifications on my side:

Eaty, Cames and the Content team already take inspiration from various different sources to achieve the best experience possible however a lot of what PokeOne has to offer are either not suitable for what we are trying to achieve with the game or are simply just bad ideas.

I 100% agree. There are a lot of mechanics I don't like in PokeOne and to be fair I prefer by far the gameplay PRO has to offer. I am not making a comparison, but just saying that applied to the Pokemon world, there are a few things that are important to take as example (eg. quest list).

Games don't just improve in a few days, it takes time, time from people who go to school, have jobs, families, kids and do this as a passion project nothing further.

Again, just to be fair, I didn't literally mean "days", of course. I mean more generally in the future. What should we expect? I mean, in the announcement subforum you just kinda have a topic on the new regions, but we don't know anything about coming content and (nothing precise but) expected ETA. I just say this because I just feel like there is no more hype around the game.

This is just my opinion, of course, but it looks like the development of the game is a bit dead. I am therefore super happy, as a player, to know from you that an incredible job has been and is being done on the game. But still, the same question arise. What should we expect from the future? I think there is a lack of communication. To be fair, compared to the past I think that the News Board is great add to the forum, in order to know what's new. But I think, a part from the "new region" topic, what are the main things the developers are currently working on? What should we be hyped for? (just as random examples, which I don't even know if are among the things considered to be important: we are doing a revamp of the texture, we are implementing mega evolution, region x is espected to be released at ..., revamp of the in game pokemon storage, etc.).

I think that an "Upcoming content" topic in the Announcement subforum could be interesting to have.

Thanks a lot for all the work you are putting in this incredible game, because it is by far the best Pokemon experience I have had in my life. Cheers.

  7. I know all the story behind PokeOne and how and why it was born. I have been very active on the forum years ago, so I am aware of all the "coding" issues that pushed Shane to leave PRO, etc... So I know that PRO cannot just reproduce the incredible quality achieved by PokeOne (which I do really think is incredible, also on Android).

But why don't you just take inspiration from the best things that PokeOne has given to their players? Let's take an example: I am now a super random player, unfortunately I don't have all the time I would like to have to play anymore. So, for example, a quest list would be just incredible to allow all the players (and even more random players like me) to understand immediately what to do. An autopatcher would be another main thing to achieve (even though I remember that there were major issues coding-wise on the topic).

And especially: why the developing pace has slowed down so much? I am just curious to know.

I love PRO and I have been playing for more than 4 years. I am not really focussed into restarting again my adventure in PokeOne, but I am curious to know how PRO will improve in the coming days.

This is not a real suggestion, but more a general talk on the game and on its future development, and I would like to know the thoughts that other players and the developers have.

Thank you for your time and I wish you a happy New Year!

    CONSOLE

    • Lighting < on | off >
      • Usage: Enables/ Disables the client's lighting effects.
Setting this command to "off" will disable all lighting effects from the client (Day/Night cycle). This helps those with poor vision or people who want a brighter screen to look at.
A client restart is required to activate the effects.

    • Clearmaps
      • Usage: Clears the client's cache.
Using this command will clear all map data that's stored in your client. This may be required if there are issues with your map (i.e. objects are invisible, map is outdated, etc).
A client restart is required to activate the effects.

    • Clean reg
      • Usage: Resets all of the clients entries in Windows Registry.
Using this command will force the client to shut down and all registry changes, that PRO makes, will be reset. This will cause the client to forget all settings you have previously made including saved passwords, options and key binds.

    • Camera < 3D | 2D >
      • Usage: Toggles experimental 3D Camera.
Using this command will switch your camera view to a much more zoomed "3D" looking view. This command is experimental and there are lots of bugs with clipping. It's fun though :3

    • Disconnect | Logout
      • Usage: Logs the user out of the server.

    • Quit
      • Usage: Closes the client.

How to enable the 3D camera?

Looking for answers I just found this answer:

In console "camera 3d" -without the ""

After a new attempt, it seems like the "camera 3d" is either disabled or unusable by me. I just have to type it (without quotes) into the console I open with F2 on PC devices, right?

The console keeps saying that it is an invalid command.

  9. The map needs an update yea, staff probably has an updated map, but it hasn't been published to live server. I think i saw an updated map in test server

Just for curiosity: what do you think about the Hoenn-Sinnoh connection? Do you think it is something feasible?

  10. There's nap island between johto and hoenn already, but a place between hoenn and sinnoh would be nice (even though i only use ferries lol).

I had absolutely no idea that Johto and Hoenn had already been connected. Then it should be shown in the map!

  11. Is it possibile to have, just as it happens with PokeOne, a quest list visible on the screen? This would help a lot not to forget anything we have to do, especially in a case like mine, in which I got back to PRO basically a year after the last time I played.

  12. Hey, how's it going? It's been a while since my last post and since the last time I have been spending some serious time on PRO.

I just found the game quite improved and I read a lot of interesting suggestions in this forum.

What I am gonna do here is basically re-take one of my very old posts, in order to share with you an idea that, two years ago, appeared to be interesting even to a few staff members. Here you can find the link.

So, even though I know that currently there is a custom region under development, until now PRO has "limited" itself to adapt to an online MMO game the existing pokemon regions. But what if we can make the PRO overworld the true dream of countless pokemon players? What if we try to link all the regions with routes in which we can swim or walk (in my proposal, the former case appears to be the more realistic).

I give you a concrete example of what I mean:

    1. Johto routes 47-48 are kinda useless. Considering that from the cliffs you can see the sea, and that through the ladders in the caves it is possible to reach it, why not start a water route from there to reach Hoenn? Since it would be quite a long way to swim, right in the middle we could have a new island, which could either be a new custom island or an old one (like Pinkan Island, Dock Island or Leev Town) to be "replaced" here. At the conceptual level, it would be the same thing with Love island, which I don't currently know if is reachable swimming or just through Vermilion City.

    141705858_Screenshot(105).png.beea82684374a6c51e710590bca1a89e.png

    2. Between Hoenn and Sinnoh we could reason in the same way. From either route 129 or 130, a new water path could start heading to the Battle Frontier, which could be the first island to interrupt the otherwise super boring water route. From there, you could start a water route reaching the nearby island, which could be a new one made from scratch, or one of those I mentioned before. From ther it is possible to start a new water route with another island in the middle, in order to reach Flower Paradise island/Seabreak path, which are kinda useless as well.

    566395560_Screenshot(106).png.7e4ea531a6d84d8d8296b5b645891068.png

I know that one of the main problems you may find in this is the "money sink" logic of the interregional transportation ferries, though I still think that this proposal is worth the price.

The other factor to be considered is that these new routes and island could be used to host formidable trainers, also because, not to break the game progression, these routes have to be accessible only after both the linked regions have been completed.

In fact, in this way PRO would not just be a MMO adaptation of the main series games, but it would also provide that unique feature that none of the games (fanmade included) has ever achieved: to make the pokemon world a fully free roaming and explorable open world.

With a little effort, and without traumatising the game itself, PRO would be even more unique!

Please, share with me your thoughts and doubts and let's reopen this conversation!

(I have to admit that I dream also the Sevii Island to be a complete free roaming area, but that's a way bigger effort, therefore I think we can put it waaaaay in a second place).
