I had disconnect problems the first day so I googled a solution. Try running it in compatibility mode windows 7 and/or set the cpu affinity on cpu 0 and deselect the others. I haven't had a crash since then. I do both just in case so I'm not sure if just compatitbility mode is 100% perfect. You have to set the affinity each time you start the game.
