1. Protect/Detect
When you use Protect or Detect, If the opponent changes his pokemon at the same turn,
Protect or Detect should be failed.
So you can use Protect again on next turn without failure. It is how Protect/Detect works.
But it doesn't work correctly.
In PRO, You'll success to use Protect/Detect on opponents's change. and then it'll make you to fail to use Protect/Detect on next turn.
It is totally reversed
2. Volt Switch / U-Turn / Baton Pass
When you use those moves, it just goes first before selecting pokemon that want to change.
it means, You can check opponent's changing, or move usages that faster than yours, before you select pokemon to change.
This is the one of powerful reason to use Volt Switch / U-Turn.
It provides a bunch of momentum that makes you advantageous.
But, yeah. It doesn't work excatly like i said.
3. Water Absorb and Scald
When you use Scald on a pokemon that has the ability ; Water Absorb,
You can't make him burned.
Water Absorb prevents side effects of water-type moves too.
But in PRO, you can make pokemon that has Water Absorb burned with Scald.
