try reinstalling the game? helped for me the first time i got this problem

hello, Since I didn't grab the rock smash on route 11 or the tm in Celadon city, i'm pretty much got nowhere to go. I'm in Hoenn in Rustborro city going to route 116 but I need rock smash in the cave to progress to Verdanturf town. Can someone help me, please? greets gio
