Lost TMs, not a rollback?

Hello, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place or if this has been answered. Today when I was playing, I purchased the TM Dig and taught it to my Seedot. I purchased the TM from the shop in Celadon, which was 3,500. I got auto-logged out from AFKing too long, and when I logged back in my TM was gone, as well as my Seedot did not have the move anymore. My money was still gone too, as though I had still made the purchase. This has happened to my husband before as well, the other day. He purchased a Psychic from Sabrina's gym, taught it to his Abra, and when he logged out and logged back in, the move was gone, the Abra did not have it, and he was still short the money as if he'd purchased it.
