We wanted to trade my haunter to elvolve. But i forget that my poke wa a johto poke and now it blocked on his pc. What now? can we unlock it?

A person asked me to help evolve his Haunter, but then I cannot trade back to him since it is a johto pokemon and I have not finished Kanto E4.... Anyone can help?
