Changing of Pokemon mid-fight.

As a newcomer to the Pro game I'm still stuck in leveling up my pokemon. I've been placing my low-level pokemon as my main so it gets part of the xp in battles (when I'm in a fight the weak pokemon comes out first, so when I change to a strong pokemon I defeat the enemy easily and that gives xp to both), however when I stumble upon trainers with more than one pokemon I struggle to get my weak pokemon to gain xp. Because when I defeat one of their pokemon, they have to switch to another pokemon, and at that time I can't change to my weak pokemon again. So I need to waste like 3 turns so my pokemon can gain xp.

I think it would be really useful if an option for a player to change pokemon when the other is as well was added. For example:

they have said it won't happen because it's like cheating

 

and if they did your opponent would have to be able to do this as well and and that would be a pain
