I cannot move my pokes out of the PC, but drunk last night I did move a Gyarados into my party. I am in Johto, and I also have a Totodile. I was told I need to merge but I have not found that option on the Dashboard. Can anyone help me please

You don't need to merge, Pokémon from the kanto region are locked once you enter jhoto, they will unlock once you get the 8th badge

Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

As previously stated by @Allsmell, you do not need to merge. Simply, you cannot use pokemon that are not from the current region you're in or have not finished that region. You're only allowed to use pokemon that were caught in the current region you're in. You may start using pokemon from previous regions you've completed after you've gotten the 8th badge.
