Tried to get 3 rattata hairs from route 1 for Officer Jenny. I got a few text prompts that said "[user] stole one of the wild rattata's hairs" or something like that during battle but when I go back and talk to her she says I still have 0. Nothing shows up in my bag after battles either.

Sorry for the inconvenience. After stealing the Hair with Thief your Poke that knows the move will hold it. You need to click on the Pokemon then and click on the Item to put it in you bag. And then hunt for the next item since your Poke can only hold 1 at a time.
