Can you confirm to me what the ability of your Emboar is?

If it's not the hidden ability, which is Reckless, then that should be intended.

 

Only Reckless Emboars can learn the move Hold Back. This is because of a serial code distribution in 2015 where players can use to obtain an h.a Emboar that had Hold Back. You can check this out for reference.
