Kadabra's move "Role Play" bug

I came across a bug today when I was lvling my pokemon in the Cerulean Cave, sometimes a Kadabra would show up and I would change pokemons to my Scizor (Technician) to use False Swipe and get him to 1 hp so I can easily catch him, in the amidst of all that he used Role Play and copied my pokemon's ability.

 

I eventually caught him and when I went to the pokemon storage to see him his ability had stayed as Technician instead of returning to its' normal one. Later I logged off an when I logged in again to check again it was no longer technician but synchronize.

 

So the bug fixed itself but it still kinda is a bug, so there you have it. Unfortunatly I don't have any screenhots of it but that's what happened :s
