Victor won't teach my Raichu surf. The Raichu is my OT and I already defeated him. He doesn't know any event moves (presuming they are moves taught from gym TMs). Is there a reason I can't learn it/is there a workaround?

Sorry for the inconvenience. I just tested this myself and it works for me. Could you please provide me Screenshots of your Raichu and the Dialogue from Victor? Or have you maybe already taught Surf to another Pikachu/Raichu recently? Cause Victor has a cooldown after teaching it.

I did teach surf to my Quagsire but not to any Pikachu or Raichu... Attached are screenshots of my dialogue before and after I select my Raichu. It is the same whether or not I know thunderbolt.

Hello @Stahya,

 

The Problem is Seismic Toss, so I am afraid you need to overlearn that Move with any other Move it learns and then you should be able to teach Surf to it. :-) Sorry for the inconvenience.

I replaced Seismic Toss with Thundershock and that still shows the same dialogue. :( Any other suggestions?

Hi Stahya,

 

I had our Scripters look into it and apparently Victor does not recognise Spark as a level up move, so that is what's causing the problem. There will be a fix for that, but it might take a while till it get implemented since they are pretty busy with lots of other stuff. :-/ So if you need a quick fix you can just overlearn Spark too with another move or you wait it out till it will be fixed. I am again really sorry for the inconvenience caused by that.
