Roost - Flying type replaced with Normal type

Featured Replies

I can see that Roost got added the function of losing the flying type for the rest of the turn.

However, it seems that this flying type gets replaced by a normal type.

The real mechanic is that if the roost pokemon is a PURE flying type it will become normal.

If it is not pure flying type (it has 2 types) then it should lose the flying type and become a

pure version of the remaining type.

I saw this while training my Talonflame in Cerulean Cave. Talonflame is Fire/Flying and i roosted before a Primeape

hit me. He made Close Combat and it dealt super effective damage. What probably happened was that my

Talonflame became a Fire/Normal type instead of a pure Fire type as it was supposed to.

I tested it twice on those primeapes to be sure i wasn't seeing things.

Then I think they should just remove the flying type (to avoid complicated coding.. I guess). Cuz the only pure flying type is the legendary Tornadus/ Arceus w/ plate, they won't be obtainable for players, and can't learn roost anyway..
