My first Pokémon was a level 11 Rattata with Headbutt & Thief, I logged out to look at something on the forum and upon logging back in it had turned into a level 5 bulbasaur. A mild annoyance at worse, but I wouldn't want this to happen later in game with a Pokémon I've worked a lot on.

The rattata came back, but again replaced the first Pokémon which was my level 18 pidgey. I can't keep a throwaway Pokémon as the first one, because it messes up fights and leaves me one short still.
