The game black screens whenever I start to log into a server. When I tab out of the game, the game is visible and everything, but when I click into the game window it all goes black.

Meanwhile. Try doing Alt + Enter to leave fullscreen when you're ingame before logging in, and select a lower resolution without going into fullscreen maybe?
