Has anyone come across any NPCs carrying viable items to Thief/Covet? Or have any tips on which wilds to target?

 

Also does your Pokemon holding an item while using Thief change whether it works/reaches your backpack? [Needs Confirmation]

Paras - TinyMushroom (50%), Big Mushroom (5%)

 

Koffing - Smokeball (5%)

 

Meowth - Nugget or Quick Claw(5%) [Needs Confirmation]

 

Clefairy - Moon Stone (5%)

 

Shellder - Pearl (50%), Big Pearl (5%)

You can find where to find every item in the game in the guide section, so you know which mob you can covet and where they are ! About the holding item while using thief, honestly i don't know.

Paras maybe a good start, tiny mushrooms sells 1.5k a piece yo item maniac. Some nice but maybe popular items are smokeball from weezing and light ball form pikachu.If yuu want the rare one, try murkrow for dusk stone.

Cool, I got a Dusk Stone from a dig pit so I'm good for right now on those. (I'm actually using a Honchkrow with Thief & Blackglasses, Which makes targeting Paris a great idea, Atk EVs woot woot!)

 

I haven't started looting yet, but I also worry the current thief guide is out of date. I was thinking of targeting Meowths for the speed EVs AND since they can carry Nuggets in LG/FR, but I'm not sure if they instead carry Quick Claws a la Gen IV or higher.
