Thank you for your report and sorry for the inconvenience. Our Developers are already aware of the problem and will work on fixing it whenever possible. While this issue happens with several NPCs, you can still make progress when you encounter it, as it seems to be merely visual and should not break the execution of the script itself.

 

In this case, you should be able to choose a starter Pokémon by interacting with one of the three Pokéballs on Professor Oak's table. Can you please do so and let us know if you are still stuck afterwards?
