Eydren
Greetings. I have a suggestion that involves the use of an item that temporarily alters gender ratio of pokemon encountered. The item I came up with is consumable. It is called Aromatic Incense. The Aromatic Incense item temporarily increases the gender ratio of pokemon of specific gender by the % number it increases by. But in exchange, the probability of the opposite gender goes down by the same amount. Furthermore, the mechanic will be identical to the repel items in terms of steps. The difference being that to which you find the pokemon of the desired gender within the step count before the incense expires and the gender ratio percentage returns to the original amount. (Ex.100 steps, 200 steps, 250 steps.) In addition to that, there should be 3 variants like the repel items. - Aromatic Incense (Male/Female) Temporarily Increases the gender ratio of male/female pokemon by 3% while decreasing the gender ratio of the opposite gender by 3% for the next 100 steps before expiring. - Super Aromatic Incense (Male/Female) Temporarily Increases the gender ratio of male/female pokemon by 6% while decreasing the gender ratio of the opposite gender by 6% for the next 200 steps before expiring. - Max Aromatic Incense (Male/Female) Temporarily Increases the gender ratio of male/female pokemon by 10% while decreasing the gender ratio of the opposite gender by 10% for the next 250 steps before expiring. Here's a scenario: A player is trying to find a female Eevee out of personal preference and wants to evolve it to be a Sylveon. However, Eevee's gender ratio is 87.5% male and 12.5% female. The player uses Max Aromatic Incense in the area where Eevee dwells in. The gender ratio for Eevee has been temporarily altered to 77.5% male and 22.5% female. Thus boosting the chance to catch a female Eevee. All pokemon in the area (including water areas etc) will be affected by whichever incense is used. These items should be expensive and only acquired through bosses or PvP coins or any other means that make them difficult to acquire. Also, if one should use for example the Max Aromatic Incense while the Super Incense is active, it will erase the step count of the super and replace the step count with the max one. This item can help aid in the search for certain pokemon with evolutionary lines that are dependent on their gender (i.e. Getting a Gallade requires Ralts to be a male, etc) or if a player simply wishes to find a pokemon with the right gender by personal preference that happens to be low in terms of probability (i.e. Togepi and Eevee to which the males are 87.5% and females are 12.5% in the wild according to the PRO wiki.) For sprite appearance, the Aromatic Incense should look identical to the Lax Incense item except it is blue for male pokemon and pink for female pokemon respectively. However, this suggestion that deals less with encounter rate by rarity and more to do with gender ratio of pokemon (unless Encounter rate includes gender ratio of pokemon encountered). From the looks of it, this suggestion may be in the gray area. My question is if the Encounter rate strictly deals with the pokemon encountered by rarity or if it also includes that and the gender ratio rate of which a pokemon is encountered. If this includes gender ratio then a moderator in charge of this section of the forum may deny and close this. I ask for clarity. Feedback is welcome if this suggestion is adequate and does not fall under the "Encounter rate" part of the thread.
