I know they worked that way in pokemon X and Y but every game before that it was a permanent item and with pokemon like gengar and frosslass for pvp to avoid 1 HKO you need it otherwise those pokes are worthless. There was nothing in the item description about it being destroy after 1 use and even if that's the case it should be replenished after a pvp match. But there was mega evolves then were as there isn't now making it so Pokemon that cant mega evolve need that item like in the old gens. I think if you hold this item, ofc u will cannot hold mega stones in this game...
