(Heads up, this gonna be a pretty long introduction.)

Yo yo whassup? Was watching Twitch.tv/Crendor and saw him streaming some PRO. I thought, "Hey this game looks pretty cool," and tried it for myself. Been playing for a few hours and, while I've been enjoying myself, I've got some questions/criticisms I'd like to share.

 

First and foremost, I'd like to know how indicative of the final product the current beta is. Yes I know there are new pokemon/moves/regions planned as future content, but that's not what I'm talking about. I mean things like most moves not having animations, the soundtrack being mostly comprised of seemingly random samples of actual pokemon ost's (I've heard Sea Mauville, like, 5 times and it really didn't fit the locations,) npc's disappearing after conversations instead of walking away, gym leaders not having their own battle theme, etc. etc. I'd like to think that these are all just unfinished, that's what I'd think for most other mmo betas, but I'd like to get confirmation all the same.

 

Second, and I know this is probably a touchy subject, but I need to know this game's legal history. To be clear, I am not trying to be offensive or hurtful. I think what the devs have done so far is quite commendable, but I don't want to invest time into a project that's likely to get cnd'd. I see that PRO collects donations to keep the servers running and that has me more than a little worried about the game's future. It would put my mind at ease if I could know about any sort of recognition or permission from Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, thanks.

 

Other than those two biggies, I don't really have anything to complain about. The non-randomized sections of the soundtrack are supreme remixes, the differences so far have made this trip through Kanto quite fresh, the opponent trainer's aren't sub-braindead for once and pose an actual challenge, and the community has been nothing but friendly and inviting! I think I'll stick around to see where this game goes,

Looks pretty cool? This is pretty cool, mate!

The beta status means the game is still in developement: crashes may occur such as glitches, etc, but, even checking the forum, you'll se that most of the problems are minor problems.

Don't worry about the legal thing, just enjoy the game :Grin:

Welcome to PRO, i'm sure you'll a great time as many of us are.

 

Now, about the music thing, it haven't been change because there's a lot of things before that in the list to being updated, so it will take some time for it to change

 

Also don't worry about legal things, there a lot of professional people behind the game and they are keeping the game inside a legal frame. So its not likely to be taken down by legal issues. So ahead and enjoy the game! :Cool:

hey mate,

 

why does it worry you that they use donations to keep the servers running?

 

lets take Runescape for instance.. they have a membership side that i'm almost positive the money is used to pay for the servers and the free to play players have adds around the game, again more than likely used to pay for servers.

 

PRO is very small at the min and need any bit of income they can, it doesn't worry me at all as once the community grows so will the revenue and then it should become stable

Thanks for the replies! The only reason I'm worried about the donation thing is that the nintendo legal team might look at that and say " They're profiting off of our property!" But I'll trust the poster above you that the people behind this have it covered

Hi, thanks for your WoT ^^ keep in mind that

 

PRO is currently in a Live Beta, and you will keep your progress.

The team is working on new updates around the clock and amazing things are always coming.

Given that we are in LIVE BETA the game is still under development. Crashes and bugs are expected to happen any moment.

You can also expect to see more regions and content popping up from time to time!
