How do you decide the price of a pokemon?

Hey guys I finally got my fourth badge and I'm going to sell a bunch of my pokemons to start building a more competitive team but the problem is I don't know how much to ask or if it will be better to just trash them. I read the spacemuffin guide but it doesn't seems very accurate for the most part so I thought of asking here. Is there a formula? How do you count IV, nature, levels and rarity? I don't want to go with a "PM offers" because I'm afraid to be ripped off :Grin:

There is no certain theory about pricing the fact all depend on both traders perspective.

Each pokemon have different value depend on customer demand, poke's level, iv, ev, nature, abilities, rarity, and sometime moves they have atm.

this makes the price very vary depend on unique customers.

i look at the pokes in trade channel.. If someone selling a good poke, but mine is better.. I ask more for it :Crazy:

 

Most of the time i say; offer ..

but i have a price in my head :)

People tend to develop an affinity for market prices over time. The more trades you see/do the better an understanding you will get of the values of different pokemon.

Some advice I can give you is to check out the trade forum of the server you're playing on. Have a look at the threads of the past month or so to see what pokemon were sold for how much, these prices should give you a decent indicator of how much you could expect to sell a similar pokemon for.

Remember if all else fails you can always ask the people in the All chat for a price check, they usually have a good idea of what it should be.

Well usually you can only get a decent pay from good iv's or high levels (or both). If you have lvl 50 pokemons with bad iv's I doubt you can sell them for anything worth selling them. Maybe as much as 30k if they are good pokemons. If you have lvl 100 pokemons, then even if they have bad iv's you can sell them for people who just needs them to beat Sabrina or the elite4. But even then they won't go as high as 70k unless they have decent ivs or rare pokemons. as they said before, there is no formula to find out, you just have an idea. It's like common sense. Also, you can sell low level pokemon with good, great or epic iv's at good prices, even more if they are rare. I sold a Litwik with great iv's for 100k. So, it can be more rewarding to sell low lvl pokes with good iv's than selling high level trash pokes.
