Am i just doing something wrong?

Featured Replies

first forum post not sure how it works but

i just entered johto for the first time and wanted to fish for a staryu, but ive been here for 15 minutes and im not getting anything with my fishing rod. am i just doing something wrong or do i have to fish longer?

Hello @Nimblethunder,

All fishing spawns for Staryu in Johto are only huntable through Super Rod. Given that you have just started Johto you may not have a Super Rod yet. A Super Rod can be bought in Olivine City for 75,000 pokedollars. Remember that you must have Good Rod beforehand in order to buy Super Rod.

Adding to this, fishing is generally not recommended for hunting because of how fishing works in PRO. You can surf in Olivine City after getting Fog Badge at night for a better spawn of Staryu. For more detailed spawn information you can use Reborn bot in our official discord server and/or use wiki.

Hopefully, this answers your questions. If you still have any more issues or want to ask anything, please don't hesitate to write it here.

Kind regards,
Yverneas.
