Where can one find a metal coat in kanto? I'm gonna evolve my onix. How long should I wait to evolve it?

    In Kanto, you can get metal coats in the power plant. There's a slight chance that you can get metal coats from the Magnemites there. (you can either catch the magnemites or use thief / covet. Note that while using thief / covet, the Pokemon you're using thief with has to have an empty held item slot.)

    And as for how long you have to wait to evolve the Onix, I'd say you should evolve it at lvl 80+.
