Suggestion: Pokemon Search

I'm pretty new here, so please forgive me if this idea has already been suggested, but I believe that it would benefit everyone.

My idea is instituting the Pokemon search feature which appeared in Pokemon X/Y and exists in ΩR/αs.

 

The basis of this feature is that one is able to search an area for a specific Pokemon which they have already caught.

 

Now, in X/Y/ΩR/αs, this feature includes a little dancing sprite above where the Pokemon is in the grass;

I do not believe that this is necessary and it would be much easier to just narrow the Pokemon able to be encountered in the area to that Pokemon which has been selected.

 

Why is this important? How would this affect the community?

This would make it much easier to obtain shiny Pokemon because of the ability to form chains.

Additionally it would make the PVP scene more accessible to more people because this feature would help people more easily find Pokemon with the best IVs/Natures.

And that is exactly the reason why this will never be implemented in my opinion. This will make shinys nothing special anymore because you can just farm your shinys and it will flood the "market" with tons of "extremely rare" pokemon with great IV's. Thats what neither the admins nor the majority of the playerbase wants from such an MMORPG.

I doubt that could work atm. I would say the current system is the reason why so many people play the game. Having a higher difficulty and investing some time into certain work and collecting the reward afterwards is the challenging part that people love and wanna maintain. Making things more simple and easier will not always benefit the game (for example the exclusion of fly and breeding that are a trademark of PRO).

That change is already planned for reworking. There are several other threads about that in particular.

I definitely see where you're coming from, and I'd be perfectly fine excluding the increased shiny chance.

I offered up this suggestion as a way to allow those who aren't the upper echelon a chance at viably competing.
