I was thinking if it was possible that on trainer battles we could see which pokémon the opponent would use after we defeat the first one and if we could switch our pokémon as well.

Personally, I enjoyed that option in the original games, but it's honestly a very odd choice. The only time someone get to do so is in the gyms or in some sort of tournaments. I don't think it's neccesary, the extra difficulty fits good here imo.
