The Pokédex needs a small overhaul; I'd like to remove the interaction with ??? and allow all Pokémon to be seen, even if incomplete.
It's extremely unpleasant to play random battle mobile when we don't know what the opposing Pokémon is doing, or when we walk down a route and don't know which Pokémon are available there. Why don't we change the ??? to a less opaque form of the Pokémon, or leave the '?' symbol in its Pokédex entry? I think this would bring a better experience to the game, especially with Baylugia, Metal Mewtwo, and others that aren't in the Pokédex. Besides, the information already exists. Smogon and the Discord bot always tell us what's on each route/types and stats of each Pokémon. But it's extremely annoying to know that the purple Arceus is Poison, Fairy, or Psychic.

There is a pokedex data for Baby XD001/Armored Mewtwo if you right click in the legendary data. 

I know this information, but what are the statuses of Sivally, for example? I wouldn't have to memorize the stats and abilities of all the Pokémon, as it's not possible to get the data from the Pokedex. Another point is, we don't have a tutorial on how to play. We leave the players to fend for themselves. Doesn't it make sense to have a YouTuber on the staff? pvprecorder, for example?

Missing Pokedex entrees is an antiquated aspect of Pokemon that only works against what PRO has become over the years.

 

One of the simplest ways to put this: We want to show off this game's event forms to new players. New players can't see the forms when they are starting off because of missing dex data, pure and simple. We should want to show off what makes PRO cool, not hide it. Automatically revealing all dex entrees - with a disparate indicator for acquired seen/caught/evo data - from the get go is clearly the best way to solve not only your problem, but many many others!

 

I think your post also touches on deeper and more difficult to address dilemmas, too
