My fiancee was able to replicate this bug as follows:

 

* Go to Pokémon Center and open PC.

* Attempt to drag a Pokémon from PC to chat (to link).

 

At this point, the displayed rectangle for that Pokémon will appear just floating on the screen. If it does not, just keep trying to link Pokémon from the box.

 

You can do this multiple time if you want, and multiple boxes will appear.

 

The box doesn't end there, though. Once you have one of these "floaters", you are no longer able to either rearrange your current party, or even click them for their stats. You have to entirely close and reopen the game for it to get back to normal.
