Avi965
I recommended this game to a friend, and the moment they installed it and saw the graphics and battle animations, their reaction was basically, “wtf is this?”. And honestly, I can’t even argue—the animations are dog [heck], and the graphics look extremely outdated. Almost every move uses the same animation, there’s no impact, no variety, and it instantly makes the game feel cheap and old. This is a huge turn-off for new players. You can talk about MMO depth, multiple regions, or difficulty all you want, but when the first impression is outdated visuals and identical, low-effort battle animations, people lose interest fast. My friend didn’t even want to continue playing after seeing the battles. Pokémon Revolution Online does have good ideas and solid MMO mechanics, but the graphics and battle presentation seriously hold the game back. Battles feel repetitive and boring because there’s barely any visual difference between attacks, and over time it kills the excitement of fighting—especially compared to modern Pokémon games or even older official titles. The overworld graphics also feel stiff and old, and there hasn’t been much noticeable improvement over the years. For a game that focuses so heavily on grinding and battles, the lack of visual polish and animation variety is a major downside. If PRO wants to attract and keep new players, both graphics and battle animations need a serious overhaul. Different moves should actually look different, and the overall visual presentation needs modernization. The gameplay depth is there, but the presentation makes the game hard to recommend to anyone new.
