Psywave Normal Damage Against Poison

Featured Replies

Just finished battling Misty. Her Starmie used Psywave against my Gloom which should have been super effective, but it only did normal damage.

Hello @Fenryos,

It's totally intended for moves like Psywave not to display <super effective>/<not very effective> messages and seeing the damage being affected accordingly.

Psywave belongs to the direct damage category. These moves deal a precise amount of damage unaffected by effectiveness except for type immunities.

So whatever the target's type is, as long as the target isn't a Dark type because otherwise it would be immune to your Psychic-type Psywave, your Psywave will deal the same damage it rolled between 50 and 150 with a Level 100 user.

Apply the same logic to all similar direct damage moves like Seismic Toss, Counter, Fissure, Final Gambit, Nature's Madness... that deal precise damage each time while keeping each move's specificities in mind.

I encourage you to make another report for anything else you think is bugged.

Regards
Middleground
