having trouble with adding friends. i can receive invites, and when i accept, neither of us have each other on our list and they can continue sending the request with the same results. also, on two other people, i can send invite to one, and they can accept but it doesnt show but when they send me an invite i don see it. and for another person they send invite to me and i see it, but when i invtie them, they dont see it.

Try rebooting your client. You might have also lost data from a server crash.

id like to say that /friend username works for me, but not the manual friend/unfriend. also, this problem has persisted through the course of 3 days for me

You can unfriend people in your friend list. it's in your social tab.
