From personal experience, and point of view, this community is legit the best in terms of how friendly and helpful the majority (80%) is in comparison to any other communities out there, i have been an Administrator of a gaming community for about 7 years (2007-2014) before, you can trust that i've sean all kind of people from all around the world besides chinese and japanese, all kind of different personalities and i can tell with confidence, this place is paradise.

 

I spend most of my time in the help channel helping people, and if i were to call someone toxic, it would only be those who spam their [glow=white][space][/glow] button and just flipping through the speech bubbles in game without reading anything and choose to just be a burden to someone who's willing to help by asking literally what to do on every step they take, or even ask "where do i go after pewter", if i were to give an example it would be something that happened to me and made me feel really awkward as to how to avoid being rude to the person, this:

If you've beat Misty then the guard blocking the way with his growlith should be gone, go through there south and you'll find the way, make sure to also take the dig from the house there.

That's the 5th Gym, you got a ways to go, there is a little building outside where you are, get inside that and take the underpassage to Vermilion.

I was only joking, you're supposed to lose there, though some people do manage to beat it.

Dude, are you just standing there once you entered the town? Go to the PC, heal up, and go look around, explore, play the game, don't ask questions about everything, you really can't get lost, the game is guiding you properly, read what npc's say, even if you make a wrong turn the game stops you like it did with the Flash at Cerulean, find the dock, it's a huge wooden passage, the ship is there at the end of it.

That's not an excuse, it's simple reading, you learn that in the first grade, read and proceed with the story, it's not a labyrith.

I hope you get what i mean with this, and this wasn't even the worse person i came across, you should see my conversation i had with the person which was asking me free pokemon after i helped them.

 

Other than that, i hope you'll find some people who you can get close to, converse, go hunting together, and be trade buddies to complete your pokedex twice as fast, and may the rng be ever in your favor.
