Zinsmiter Posted July 9, 2016 Share Posted July 9, 2016 As one might guess from the title, there's a bug with Water Absorb where the pokemon with the ability gets burned even though the attack was absorbed. A prime benefit of Water Absorb is that it is a foolproof counter to Scald. Also if this is the case for Scald it wouldn't surprise me if the same was true for other water moves with side effects such as Water Pulse (20% confuse chance). Scald can still burn on Water Absorb.
