Hello guys,

Just a simple thread information about how to play Pokemon PRO on linux without the needs of a virtual machine.

I have not seen any thread forward it expected one where its about virtual machine which is a struggle.

Now I must say that I have tested it on ubuntu distribution but I'm pretty sure its would work with whatever distribution you choose.

You MUST have a graphic card with drivers installed on your OS. I won't provide a tutorial about it but a quick google-search will help.

Oh, also the tutorial will be based on UBUNTU but I guess if you don't use it as your default linux OS its mean that you have some knowledge on linux.

Anyways, let's start with the base, you'll see, its really simple.

First of all, you must install WINE1.7 in order to execute .exe.

 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install wine1.7

Once Wine1.7 is installed, you must download the official client x86 from PRO.

Use archive manager to extract it to your desktop and do a right-click on it, choose "Launch with WINE.

Now you can play PRO on linux without a VM.

See ? Its wasn't complicated is it ? On that, I wish you a good game !

DISCLAIMER : i'm a newbie to linux

The PRO client is currently working on linux (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, installed 3 months ago), even faster than windows 10.

The game is correctly launched, but after a few minutes, the system crashes, even Alt-Syst-b cannot reboot the computer.

I tried three times and each times, the crash occured, at different moment, sometimes i could play 5 minutes, and sometimes a few seconds after the connection.
