Ghost skills?

So I just got my haunter and was super pumped to try him out and i could of sworn i remember ghost pokemon being strong against normals?

 

So I fight a Ratata first - use Night shade ( Ghost) completely ineffective does 0 dmg?

Ratatta attacks me with Pursuit ( normal?) super effective

 

Fight a meowth... Same thing?

 

Whats going on here? Am i missing something?

Here you go, ghost is ineffective against normal. Btw, pursuit is dark(super effective against ghost)

Ghost-type moves will not affect Normal-type Pokemon, and vice versa. Make sure to check the type chart linked above for further details on various type matchups.
