Hello all. I'll do a quick intro before going into this otherwise it will seem like I'm doing this for no reason.

First: I'd like to say I am a very very "committed" gamer, and I say "committed" to avoid the fact that I have a problem. I love to min max in everything that I do. Especially in RPGs.

Second: I DO NOT PVP IN POKEMON.

Third: I'm not far in the game, been playing for about 4 days.

So with these things in mind. I'll push onto the reason for this thread. I was told not by one, but 2 people with more than normal player rank/status/powers for PRO that I could not ask for ratings in all chat, because ratings were for battle chat only and could/should only be asked there. Also that you can "use any pokemon to complete the pve" and "theyre not needed for basic pve".

So I'm going to try to use this forum. I want this thread to be about talking about the best builds/ratings/stats/items to prepare for the toughest stuff in pokemon. So that when I get to Deoxys I'm not wondering if I can actually beat it or not. I'm not far in the game and I've already had trouble with some things(yes I'm a noob).

All you need is a level 20 Magnemite with Sturdy for Giovanni. Just use thunder wave first turn and then sweep him with your main team.

For story you can use any random pokemon and as long as you have decent coverage you won't have problems. For elite 4, you just have to grind them to level 80+. Fast pokemon are recommended for story because having to heal is annoying. However, in the very end game (you have to complete kanto, johto and hoenn story and elite 4 first and play 150h+) there are bosses that you can fight. They have 6 level 120 pokemon and most of them require that you have 6 level 100 pokemon in your team. To beat those bosses, tank setup pokemon are generally the best since you can heal them with potions and with boosted stats they will never die (example Calm mind clefable, Curse snorlax, Curse Umbreon, swords dance Scizor, etc). Therefore, if you are a tryharder and intend to complete the game, you will need a full balanced team of 6 relatively strong level 100 pokemon. What I personally recommend is training 2 pokemon per region (1 can be enough), and by the time you go throught those regions they should be close to 100 (at 97 use rare candies). Make sure you only evolve them at level 97+ thought except magikarp. For example, an ideal path would be something like

Kanto: Gengar/Gyarados (those pokemon can solo the whole region including e4) and Houndoom (can defeat mewtwo, but thats just a random idea) or your starter or eevee

Johto: Starter + Gengar/Gyarados (easily caught/traded at the begining of Johto)

Hoenn: Marill + Magnemite (Those guys are just so nice and strong, and you will need a level 100 pokemon to fight a specific boss later).

Obviously you can use any other pokemon and can also use more than 2 during story but only train 6 total to level 100.

There are also other pokemon that are helpful in PvE, like Synchronize pokemon to increase chances of getting the right nature, Thief/Covet/Frisk user to farm items on pokemon, and Breloom/Parasect high level with False swipe and Spore, in order to catch pokemon easily.

If you really want to tryhard you can EV train some of them, find the right natures and IVs, look on google for more info about them.

My wishlist :

- Epic Tyranitar (almost any nature)

- Epic Jolly Garchomp 31 speed
