So I've read it's a 5% chance that a wild poke has a hidden ability... Is that true? How often are YOU catching them? And are there any tricks to increasing those odds that you get a poke with the hidden ability?

 

So have been possessed by a cute fox demon or something. But I literally grinded my butt off to catch a good modest Vulpix with drought. And I FINALLY DID IT! Check out the images and data below

I have been trying to catch a modest Vulpix with drought for 1-2 weeks! I caught SEVEN PAGES OF VULPIX... 123 in total and only 4 of them had Drought! 4 out of 123 for 3.25%.

You have indeed 5% chance finding a pokemon with its h.a and there is no other way to increase your odds, except maybe by prayers

 

Your first modest Vulpix is really nice, seems like hard work pays off

why would you catch non-drought vulpix? i think you can easily recognize drought in battle

Edit: Ohhh you're right! It says a one liner something about the hot sun? You know,I never really read that text that goes by. I just kind of ignore it. But now that you mention it, had I been reading the text I could have saved 119 poke balls LOL. At the same time, I have several REALLY GOOD non-drought Vulpix. Although the trade value difference is pretty big.

Actually, you don't even have to read the text. There is a small sun-icon on the top right of your battle screen which appears if sun is on the battlefield

 

Same goes for rain and sandstorm btw
