Game stopped working(as it does almost half of the times u hunt for a long time and try to go to items) when I found a wild Trapinch after 5+hours of search..

Any ideas how to prevent this.. Don't wanna spend an entire day just for this to happen :(

The best solution atm is to open your items while in battle every so often. Sorry about the loss of trapinch. Hope my suggestion helps in the future :3

I do that aswell, but it does unfreeze most of the situations. Not all the time though, sadly.

Make sure to not click on the game window whilst it's freezing, alt+tab and do something else but if you click on the window, it turns white and clicking again makes Windows asking you if you want to shut down the process (just like the screenshot attached to OP's post shows), until it takes the initiative to close it for you :p

 

If you let it be, it will always unfreeze (at least it has for me so far, and since december I've been through this issue many, many, many times x) )

ye all players have same problem i'm getting stucks everyday more long today 5 mins about to going afk with a rare treecko i noticed that this happens only with rare pokes why? why gms wont help us about this? i'm tired of waiting hours everytime i found a very rare poke to catch

I know a solution against it crashing the client, against freezing yeah people said, open your bag every now and then.

I never do it, and often regret it x'D

Gainst crashing , though, on both android and Pc:

When it freezes, don't touch anything. Don't click, don't tab out. It will usually not crash if you do it like that.

Worst case scenario you'd get kicked after 7 min afk, I once got back at 6 min ... heart attack x.x

But yeah, open bag, and if it freezes, no touchie until it works again :Smile:

As I already said here (and Pelfie linked that thread here too)

"the more you battle without opening your backpack, the longer the game will freeze when you will open it."

 

Open it when in front of a Rattata 3 hours without having it open and you'll have the same issue, and yet Rattata is no rare poké

I've experienced this countless times on my pc but never when i'm playing on my mac. I will say my pc is years old, and whenever PRO is open, my CPU is at 100%. It really could just be a slow computer.

 

The best solution, is probably the ones suggested above. just open your bag every now and again, especially if your goal is to find a rare poke.
