EV Training is a pain, the least fun part of this game

Been playing pro for a while, and I think this is pay2win and would break the game. See, the end game of pro doesn't offer much if you do not pvp. So ev training allows for some players to stay longer and artificially increasing a players "lifespan". If you know the training spots, it's pretty easy to ev train.

This game already has "pay to win". I can buy 20 memberships, sell them all for 500K each, and buy top tier PVP poke and be ranked top 10 if I put in the time to be good at PVP. Memberships give you a HUGE exp and money gain boost. That's pay to win. Do you dislike that as well? How does making EV training more fun and/or less painful add pay to win?

You guys are just lazy >_>

Weak. The main point of this post was to point out that I feel EV training is the least fun part of this game (see the title of the thread...). This has nothing to do with "lazy". And everything to do with fun per hour of a gaming experience.

EV training isn't that frustrating and hard come on man, with Macho Brace at least. I think I am a weird one, since EV training is kinda relaxing to me tbh.

Leveling is relaxing. Picking EV reducing berries spread all over the universe only to run out and spam in chat trying to find some then going to the pond to mow down Psyducks and Golducks for hours not my thing lol.

292120 Let me start by saying that I have nothing against EV Trainers or daycares, you guys are life savers. I'm simply stating that the game has a design flaw in that EV training is not fun.

So here's the question, if you think EV training is boring. How do you stand hunting for epic pokemon? It takes half hour to one hour to completely finish one ev train, but it takes days sometimes weeks of straight out grinding(without even making any money because you have to escape the pokemons you don't want to hunt more effectively) to find a good/decent rare pokemon, say impish Hippo(and that's a easy one because it doesn't need H.A.).

There are more grinds that are a lot more tedious than ev training in this game, so much so that ev training itself isn't really that unbearable.

294161 Grind is expected as this is an MMO, and the current way or acquiring EVs is the same method as the mainline games.

Minus Power Items. You're still grinding for EVs that way, but considerably more convenient. I'd appreciate it if you guys at least considered implementing Power Items. (Power Belt, Power Weight, Power Band, Power Lens, Power Anklet and Power Bracer)

Very respectful question. There are too many hoops to jump through when EV training. You have to deal with specific Pokemon at specific locations, trainer resets at all locations that delay you getting to those locations, EV reducing berries gathering or buying, etc. and god forbid you have to wait a couple days to collect berries you need.

When I'm catching poke I'm looking for something specific with a goal in mind. Like right now I'm looked my for an HA Bagon because I want to try a Moxie Salamance on my team. once I finally catch it, I level it and pass it off to a EV trainer.

Ive tried EV training even with Macho brace and it's just painful. Does it really take you 30-60 minutes? I don't believe that. One time i was EV training vs a bunch of Psyducks and Golducks with a mocha brace in the idea spot according to forums and I only gained 60 EVs in about 25 minutes. On top of that I spent another 30+ minutes gathering EV reducing berries around the world... so I spent an hour and made little progress and just decided to hand that poke off to an EV trainer.

A few tips:

1. Ev train first, before you level, so you won't have to do the ev reducing part. You can level a low level pokemon to 40-50 really quickly by using the false swipe + spore + black sludge method, which then you can ev train when they get to that level.

2. Ev reducing berry available every few days at berry tower in kanto, you beat through a few trainers and get 25 berries for a specific type or 5 berries for each type. With this I have never actually run out of berries.

3. Learn the moves targeting specifically your training targets. This goes without saying, you want to OHKO all your ev training targets to save time. If you can't do this, go back and level your pokemon using the false swipe + spore + black sludge method to higher level. I'm always able to OHKO at lv50 for any pokemon.

Master all this, ev training is super easy. And yes, if you level your pokemon before you ev, you are in deep trouble.

Ev training is basic grind, if something needs to be improved its the cancer forced rebattle npc's each week. Geting an activeble item ingame that enables you to choose when to rebattle a npc instead of being forced to is something that this games need bad.

Interesting... 1 I was aware of, just never did it becuase I've always fallen back to daycares. 2, I just found out about the Berry Tower a couple days ago. What's the reset timer on that? 3, is a great idea. I'll start doing that from now on. You're right I want to be minimizing the trips to the pokecenter when EV training so I can maximize my EVs per minute.
