Hi guys, fortunantly enough I have not been affected by this bug yet, but I have seen numerous threads and people being locked out of their characters because they are stuck in a strange login loop that keeps telling them that they are already logged in. Some even stuck after a server reboot! I don't know what I would do if that happened to me! lol too addicted man..

 

I've seen this issue in some other private servers for other games as well.. it seems like the best solution is to make a button in the Account page that forces a log out.

 

Any chance of this actually working with Unity based games?

I can't remember in which thread this has been suggested too (as you rightfully stated, there are numerous of them), but if I recall correctly, it turned out that it wouldn't work, for the same reason than kicking/banning the player didn't work the multiple times it has been tried.

 

I don't remember the full details either, but it's something like "the server thinks that you're online, but you're not, therefore cannot be kicked/disconnected"

 

Only a server complete reboot can solve this issue, and this is why it's preferable to avoid being stuck in this in the first place, and the best way to do so is to always log out via Options > Log Out

Let's just accept the fact that it's a bug (having to reboot server shows a lack of server-side functionality). Asking for a walk-around won't solve it. Moreover, kicking / banning / disconnecting players without server reboot is a must-have.

and good tip about logging out every time.. I was alt-f4ing a lot. I will def log out from now on.
