I have this problem today as after i have finished training my lillipup (Vital Spirit) after evolving it into Stoutland, I was expecting that it should be sand rush but I am so surprised and disappointed, the Lillipup i trained hard knowing what it could become became the Stoutland I didnt expected. Can someone please explain me what happened? and are there any remedies that you can do?

According to Bulbapedia, Intimidate seems to be the valid ability after evolving from Lillipup with Vital Spirit.
