tldr; Scald burns Pokemon with Water Absorb (and most likely Storm Drain) when it shouldn't.

 

While watching

1-2 days ago, I realized that Scald was able to burn a water absorb Lanturn. I guess this may also be the case with Storm Drain. These abilities practically grant immunity to water type moves and the secondary effects I think.

 

I researched if this was normal, but couldn't find any reliable info on it.

 

I then tested it on Showdown with a friend and Scald indeed does not burn Pokemon with Water Absorb and Storm Drain. It'd be great if it was fixed on PRO as well. :Angel:
