R3kor
Hello everyone, after realizing that PRO became a serious time-sink for me I thought it was about time to introduce myself to this lovely community. My name is Anan and I am a half Thai-German, born and raised in beautiful Hamburg Germany, now living and working in busy Bangkok Thailand. Gaming was always a big part of my leisure time and my entry to MMOs was "Dark Age of Camelot" back in the days. Apart from computer/video games, card and board games, such as Star Wars LCG / Game of Thrones LCG and Mage Knight / Game of Thrones demand a big chunk of time in my life. However, I have to be ashamed of myself, while also being oblivious how I never got into Pokemon. Truth to be told, in my whole life I may have casually watched ~10 episodes during lunch in my high school days and never touched any of its games. How did I end up in PRO then? To be honest it is an odd reason and might elicit some raised eye-brows. As a 9gagger you are exposed to a ton of Pokemon references, which I could only guess but never truly/fully understood, so I told a friend that I wanted to be in on the next big Pokemon thing and suddenly he told me about PRO. There you go and here I am, hooked to this scene of Pokemon. My goal is to own all the Pokemon in the game (shiny if possible), by catching them all by myself. I am in no rush to finish the story or build a competitive PVP team quickly but take my time and enjoy being a collector that hunts it's own Pokemon. With 144hrs playtime logged, yet still traveling around Kanto and no E4 on my mind, I managed to catch ~145 Pokedex entries by myself, with 1 shiny (Pidgey) among them. Enough about me, it's time to address you! I need to mention that this community is really friendly and helpful (except some odd cases) and the support of the staff is amazing. Thank you to all the devs and staff for creating such an amazing game and thanks to the community for making it a pleasant place to be. Warm regards r3KoR a new Pokemon disciple PS: I apologize for my bad English at times but please consider that I am no native English-speaker Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming " Wow! Anieru
Belated welcome to PRO Mr Hunter! I've noticed the community is generally split between people who would rather battle and people who would rather train/hunt. Each to their own. I've noticed you work at a language center, what languages do you speak? "Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best." R3kor
Hi Anieru, first of all I don't mind to battle, in fact I do like it a lot. And if I have a chance to participate I gladly do it. My reason first and foremost is that I still don't have a competitive knowledge about the game's mechanics and different movesets, synergies and tactics. I can hear your argument already that I will not find out until I actually actively engage in battles. Sure you are right but I think it is fair for me to say that there is so much background for me to read up about before I feel comfortable to throw myself in b100s. I mean I want to offer my opponent some form of challenge. Also my hunting counts only for dex and shinys... I can clearly picture me buying Pokemon for competitive use. My "fluent" languages are German, English and Thai (in this order) and a little bit of pathetic French (me being pathetic, not the language of course). But that's why you hire teachers that are proficient in other languages right? Hope to see you InGame some time and nice to make your acquaintance Anieru.
